Why Transparency in Sales is So Important

Here at Bamboo Nine, we like to do things a little differently – like every digital marketing company says…

But really, we actually do things differently, specifically in the way we handle our sales. In fact, we’d go so far as to say that the way we handle our clients on the sales side of things goes against 95% of other digital marketing principles – and we’re proud of that. Our sales team are not only incredibly good-looking, but they genuinely care about our clients and this can be seen in the uniquely tailored campaigns we create.

So, cutting to the chase, we have outlined the key aspects of our sales team that make us one-of-a-kind in the world of digital marketing.

We are Completely Transparent with Our Clients

Being completely transparent with our clients is our core moral, it’s our baby, our massive, moral baby.

Some people might assume that regardless of which digital marketing agency you go for, they’re all going to be more or less the same.

However, unlike some digital marketing agencies, we believe the client deserves to see exactly where their money is going. That’s why we offer full, unreserved and totally honest transparency when it comes to client campaigns. You want to see exactly what happened in your KPI report last month? No problem, you want full access to your AdWords account? No problem. And why should it ever be a problem? Honesty is a fundamental principle at Bamboo Nine and our clients deserve to know exactly where their money is going and how we’ve been managing their campaigns.

So, what are other agencies doing then?

There are a few key differences to how things work here at Bamboo Nine. We’re proud of our company ethos and because of that, we want to scream it from the hilltops – but because we’re a digital marketing agency, it’s better to scream it through the media, specifically this article.

Some agencies do not allow ‘behind the scenes’ access

Other (by no means all) digital marketing agencies often do not let their clients see what’s going on behind the scenes. This may be because they have stockpiled other clients’ accounts into the same folder, meaning that if the agency did want to show their client’s their AdWords, they couldn’t because other clients’ information and expenditures are in the same place. Transparency is critically important in today’s digital market, as Marketing Land states:

‘If you donā€™t know what percentage of your ad money go toward media versus fees, you are at the mercy of your vendor. They could be taking anywhere from 20 percent to 40 percent of your ad spend as their margin. Maybe more. Unless you have this conversation with them, you wonā€™t really know.’

Some agencies have hidden costs

Another reason for the lack of transparency could be due to the agency taking a margin percentage, so for example:

Letā€™s say your suggested AdWords budget is 10k, you pay the Agency Ā£10k + the agreed management fee. Hereā€™s where it gets slippery; how can you know that your 10k is being spent on AdWords if you donā€™t have access to your AdWords account? Some agencies do state that they will take a margin ā€“ if thatā€™s the case, fine. However, many businesses that partner with digital marketing companies are completely unaware of this and could be in for a nasty shock when they discover theyā€™re not granted access to see where their money is goingā€¦

Data protection

As a business owner, you (the client) should own all the data, it’s your account! We’re just the ones who manage it and make sure it’s going in the right direction! If, for some reason it doesn’t work out with us and you’d like to leave, you won’t be losing your campaign spend details, keywords etc.

Margins

The reason that some agencies donā€™t let the client access their accounts is because they are taking a margin. Sometimes up to 40% of the agreed budget is not being spent on google. In this arrangement, the client typically pays the agency and the agency pays google. Some agencies will tell the client this, others are not aware, so itā€™s not always ethical.

It goes without saying that Bamboo Nine donā€™t take a margin. Absolutely 100% of your AdWords budget goes on Google. To be sure of this, the client pays Google directly. No middle man, no margins.

We Don’t Believe in Contracts!

People are often thrown by having to sign a long-term contract with digital marketing agencies. At Bamboo Nine, we’ve ditched the contract scheme and decided to allow our clients to leave whenever they please.

While this might seem like a risky venture, it goes back to our honesty policy – in that we want our clients to trust us. There are no top-secret techniques, no jargon we hide behind, just trust and honesty! If you feel we could be doing a better job, or you’d like to make changes within your campaign – no problem! We’re constantly working towards new ways to ensure you stick with us and trust that we’re the right company to propel you into a brighter future.
